Why Pre-Recorded Videos Can’t Teach the Soul of Celebrancy
If you spend five minutes on search engines, you will be flooded with glossy advertisements promising to turn you into a certified celebrant in a weekend. They feature slick marketing videos, automated portals, and promises of instant success. But if you scratch beneath the surface of these massive corporate schools, you will find a disheartening truth. Many of the people running these organisations have next to no real-world experience holding space for a grieving family or guiding a couple through their wedding ceremony. They stepped into celebrancy, and soon realised they could make a lot of money churning out courses by using their marketing backgrounds to capture the market. Today, they operate like factories processing hundreds of new celebrants a month through cold, automated, pre-recorded video modules or formulaic training models. You cannot learn the sacred art of ceremony and ritual from a pre-recorded video or inflexible learning programme. Nor can you learn how to hold the silence in a room of mourners by answering an automated quiz. Celebrancy is not marketing. It is word medicine. This is a soulful, highly nuanced craft that must be passed down through real, human connection. That is what we offer at Heart-led Ceremonies Celebrant Training.
The Power of the Live Circle (Strictly Limited to Six)
When I transitioned our training from our home to the virtual space, Paul and I refused to compromise on intimacy. We refused to become a factory. That is why our training happens in a Live Virtual Circle. There are no pre-recorded lectures here. When you join, you are in a real-time, face-to-face interactive mentorship with me. I bring more than three decades of lived experience as a working celebrant to every single session. I have navigated the unexpected, written thousands of bespoke scripts, and held space in almost every scenario imaginable. You get direct, live access to that lifelong vault of knowledge as well as Paul’s more than five decades working with the voice. Because this is a sacred, interactive space, each intake is strictly limited to no more than six souls. So, you can be sure, that in a group of six, you are never a number. You cannot hide in the back of a crowded webinar nor will you sit anonymously in your kitchen working your way through videos and quiz sheets on your own.
In our training, your voice is heard, your unique gifts are nurtured, and your specific fears are addressed. We laugh, we explore scripts and real-life scenarios, and we build real confidence together, in real-time. It has all the warmth and depth of sitting on our purple sofa, without the added burden of accommodation and travel costs for you.
What Real Mentorship Actually Looks Like
We don’t just wave goodbye when the initial live circle finishes. In fact, that is just the foundation. To ensure you are fully equipped to launch a successful, deeply rooted career, your training includes five to eight private, one-to-one mentorship sessions with Paul for voice, communication and presentation skills. Think about the sheer volume of individual attention you are receiving:
The Live Intensive: Deep, interactive group learning with a tutor who has 30+ years in the field.
The 1:1 Specialisation: Five to eight dedicated hours of completely personalised one-to-one guidance to refine your unique strengths, polish your delivery, and set up your practice.
Twelve Modules
You will then have twelve weekly modules to complete which will be assessed to ensure you are ready to step out into the world as a professional celebrant.
You are free to have one-to-one mentoring sessions with me (Veronika) throughout your module submissions.
We (Veronika and Paul) offer personalised LIFETIME support. There are also monthly CPD sessions with other Heart-led Celebrants.
Compare that to the corporate schools where you are left alone with a screen, submitting assignments (for those that have them; many don’t) into a faceless online portal to be graded by an underpaid assistant rather than someone who is 100% invested in your success. Even those that run residential training drop you off a ‘cliff’ once you’ve completed your days. And they certainly won’t remember your name. How do I know this?
