Writing Masterclasses for Celebrants

From writing poetry as a child to working as a news reporter to media officer (internationally), author, and celebrant with longevity, words have always enchanted and intrigued me.

My love of writing was enhanced by successfully completing and graduating from the University of Cumbria with a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. This augments my work not only as a celebrant and author but also as a celebrant trainer.

 

 

With detailed feedback on each script our celebrants-in-training submit, they are learning to dramatically improve their writing skills. I generously pass on my knowledge and experience, and love to share ways in which writing can inspire, educate, inform and entertain.

Those who study for their Diploma in Advanced Celebrancy and Ritual receive masterclasses in love stories and life stories as part of their training.

There are, of course, many celebrants who’ve trained elsewhere and soon realise they weren’t taught and don’t have the skills to write outstanding scripts, and this is why I offer advanced writing tutoring to other celebrants too.

The options are:
Masterclass (in eulogies or love stories). This is a 1.5 hour session which takes place over Zoom.

One-day creative writing class (at our home in Cumbria). This can lead to a Certificate in Creative Writing for Celebrants.

Five-week creative writing course (via Zoom). This can lead to a Certificate in Creative Writing for Celebrants.

What qualifies me to teach these? Apart from my Masters Degree in Creative Writing, I’m a celebrant with more than thirty years of lived experience in the role; and the author of more than thirty books (three translated into foreign languages), including several books for celebrants.
