Is this the alternative career path you’ve been looking for?

by Veronika Robinson, tutor at Heart-led Ceremonies Celebrant Training

For nine years, my husband Paul (voice and presentation coach) and I have had the immense privilege of training people to become celebrants through Heart-led Celebrants. In that time, we have noticed a beautiful, consistent thread among those who find their way to this work. Most aren’t looking for a corporate ladder to climb. They are looking for an alternative path: a career that feels deeply meaningful, creative, and fully aligned with who they are. Perhaps you are already the person your family and friends turn to during life’s biggest thresholds. You might be the one asked to speak at a gathering, or the friend people seek out when they need comfort during life’s dark storms. If that sounds familiar, you are already carrying the heart of a celebrant. Turning that natural gift into a viable, fulfilling profession is simply the next logical step.

Stepping Away from the Ordinary
Choosing to become a Heart-led Celebrant means creating a life on your own terms. It is a career that allows you to work with ritual, creativity, and deep human connection. But I know that stepping into a completely new industry can feel incredibly daunting. The biggest hurdle for most beginners isn’t the writing or the public speaking; it’s the fear of starting out entirely on your own. The traditional business world tells us we have to be solitary competitors, figures standing alone trying to prove our authority.

You Don’t Need To Do This Alone
This is exactly why I have shifted the way I train new celebrants. Instead of solitary one-to-one mentoring, I now gather students into small, intimate online groups. When you train with us, you aren’t just getting a set of manuals or a checklist of things to do. Nor are you joining a training course that’s based on pre-recorded videos. You are stepping into a supportive, collaborative hive. You enter a safe circle of peers who are walking the same path alongside you. We workshop wedding scripts together. We explore the delicate, profound art of crafting funeral ceremonies. We share our vulnerabilities, build our confidence, and lift each other up. When you step out to conduct your first ceremony, you won’t be standing there alone. You’ll have a trusted network of colleagues cheering you on from the wings, as well as your mentors.

The Tools for Your Journey
To help demystify the craft and give you a solid foundation before you even begin, I have poured my years of experience (more than 30 as an international celebrant) into comprehensive training books, as well as a collection of celebrant books. Books like Write That Eulogy, Write That Love Story, Funerals For Children, The Discrimination-free Celebrant, The Five Elements, as well as upcoming titles: Write That Wedding Script and Under the Starflower: A Book of Blessings are designed to show you exactly how beautiful and practical this work can be. They are your insider’s guide to the trade.

If you are ready to leave behind a career that feels rigid or unfulfilling, I invite you to join our next small-group online training. Let’s explore your natural gifts together, within a community that has your back every single step of the way. Your alternative path is waiting.

Our next small-group LIVE online training cohort is open for registration. Space is intentionally limited to ensure every single student receives deep personal feedback, peer support, and the confidence needed to launch a successful celebrancy practice. You will graduate not just with a qualification, but with a trusted network of colleagues cheering you on from day one.
